Anyone use Facebook?

I was just wondering, do any of you use facebook? Recently i have been talking witha couple of old friends because of facebook and one of my old friends came to visit me just over a week ago to catch up and have a laugh about old times etc, it was great and i'll be seeing him again.

Mine is Christopher Maxwell Or # http://www.facebook.com/T1Cybernetic and although i dont use facebook all that much i am glad i registered...

I know some people here on the forum personaly but it would be nice if everyone posted some infomation about yourself, Don't be scared ...

My name is Solange... surprise surprise... Lol.

I've cancelled my facebook account, I don't like the application and I find their user agreement a little dodgy. I prefer bulletin boards and msn/skype/yahoo for contact.

What is wrong with the user agreement? to be honest i just skiped over it

I don't know if they've changed the user agreements, but at least they used to state that the company owning facebook had all legal rights to any content you put up there, text, images etc. Meaning you might post a piccy of your family eating dinner and facebook sells it to an advertising company that uses it for a ketchup commercial, facebook gets all money, your family is exposed and you get nothing. A little bit like how the Chrome TOUs were before they changed them.

Facebook might have changed this, but I don't really care. There was a huge debate here in Sweden a little over a year ago where someone's photos were actually used in an advert, and this action is enough for me to not want anything to do with that company.

Besides, it is ugly, not very customizable, and not so user friendly.

...which is exactly the right mindset to have when using it.
I and most of my mates use it to take the piss and have a laugh, inventing fantastic lies about ourselves, using crazy profile pictures, creating stupid groups. There is fun to be had and you really dont have to give up any personal info at all if you really want.

I've never been much for pretending to be someone I'm not... What you see is what you get. Sure, I could do that, but I don't see much point, as the only reason I can see to use facebook would be to stay in touch with a lot of friends and family who for reasons beyond my comprehension prefer facebook to email and bulletin boards...

I was talked into registering on facebook ages ago by some friends on irc but now i use it to keep track of friends and some family, some of them life pretty far away or spend alot of time working/busy so it's perfect for that...

I have to say i've got into the swing of facebook!

Over the last few of weeks i've been (reunited) with three good friends from years past all the way back from school times which i doubt i would have seen again if it wasn't for facebook, and one of them only lives a few miles away from me plus he's just bought a brand spankin new cbr fireblade so he's been visiting which turned out to be some fun.

At the very least places like facebook and myspace are great for keeping up with old friends and meeting new friends...

And became bored with it ~ quickly!

I added a few friends from the past, but now, I find myself chatting on the phone to them instead of online.

It says I have over 800 friends and maybe I do...
Now to find the time to converse with them all, hmmm.

Been lurking on facebook a lot and it's good to see other sites are integrating facebook into their own so you can post a link on one place and up it pops on facebook for all to see, Saves a whole load of messing about when I am watching youtube stuff anyway
